About Book
Hoshiarpur is a district in Punjab, India. The city of Hoshiarpur stands out as the "Land of Saints," famous for its traditional wood inlay work, a craft that has been passed down through generations for over 350 years. The "Hoshiarpur Wooden Inlay Cluster" (HWIC) exemplifies this rich heritage and is a testament to the city's enduring craftsmanship. Nestled within Hoshiarpur there is a small village called Boothgarh. This village is on the main Chandigarh highway, and it has an easy approach to all the basic needs. There are green fields around here, which provides us a scenic view. It is approximately 6 to 8 kilometres form the Meharban town. The HWIC is more than just a collection of artisans; it is a community that has preserved and nurtured a unique art form that continues to captivate both domestic and international customers. This case study aims to explore the myriad challenges, impacts, and opportunities faced by the cluster, as well as the advanced machinery and government initiatives that support its growth and sustainability.
